Tay Chee Wei Music Director / Composer / Conductor A classical pianist by training, Tay Chee Wei is fast becoming one of Singapore's musical treasures. Chee Wei's musical passion looms in the arena of orchestral arrangements embracing both live instrumentation and midi technology. A 'passionate perfectionist', Chee Wei strives to make each chord of his work transcend emotions. His recent compositions in 'From Illusion to Realit', and 'Sons', the winner of Best Film and Special Achievement Award for the Singapore International Film Festival 2000, transcends sonic pleasure by immersing the listeners to dimension of human feelings. An avid listener of anything that is music, Chee Wei's compositions include various popular genres (genres considered mutilation of music in the doctrines of classical music teachings). In his quest to create musical experiences that conjure up emotions, Chee Wei is shifting his attention to dialogues and workshops with various composers and musicians within the global village (at the moment) in the continuing pursuit of creating "THE" musical experience. |
